A Monument for the Oguaamanhen
Editorial · source-attributed · 4 September 2026

In Cape Coast, a monument now honours Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Oguaamanhen. According to the Ghana News Agency, the monument was a collaboration between the Walker Youth Empowerment Foundation and FANTEFEST.
The dedication plaque is dated 4 September 2026 and credits Charles Kojo Walker, the Walker Youth Empowerment Foundation and FANTEFEST. The Ghana News Agency report by Victoria Agyemang was published on 5 September 2026 and identifies Charles Kojo Walker as the Foundation’s founder.
Recognising a sitting traditional ruler in stone is a statement about continuity: that the institutions which hold Oguaa’s custom deserve visible honour in the city they serve.
Reporting note: the news agency uses a shortened name for the Foundation; this site keeps the Foundation’s full name. This article does not describe the Foundation’s legal registration. The photograph shown here was supplied by the owner with permission to publish.
